INTRODUCING CHILDREN TO CLASSICAL MUSIC THROUGH STORYTELLING.
As the producer of the music CD, Green Golly and Her Golden Flute, and as a team member in creating this project, I am still inspired by this wonderful vision. Seen here on the right, the Musical Works listing of composers’ works have also inspired thousands of children and families. I view the genius of this vision as springing from Barbara and Keith’s love of educating children through music.
They also present their own supportive, entertaining and instructional songs to children throughout the U.S.A. and abroad; their project, Now We Can Sing, reveals stories of Jewish emigrants who escaped to America from the atrocities of the Third Reich; Barbara’s international renown as a flutist is established; Keith’s talents as a storyteller and creative partner to Barbara are a fountain of inspiration.
I was honored to provide administrative services to them as grant recipients and served as music-ensemble conductor for their YouTube recording of Green Golly and Her Golden Flute.
Their support has been reciprocal: They provided their artistry in support of the American Music Educational Television Project, by volunteering service as interviewees on the American Music TV series, and Barbara volunteered as flutist for the Kate Wolf Choral music recording, Unfinished Life, Dreams, Friendships and Farewells, which I produced and set to choral music.

Fun and Instructional Songs for Children!
This Rakeiho Publishing Company website also honors Duke Ellington, Gustav Mahler and Kate Wolf. We have posted this edited version of Keith and Barbara’s book, Green Golly and Her Golden Flute, because we wanted to provide (as limited space would allow) examples of their storytelling gifts. Importantly, some of the beautifully-artful illustrations of Ms. Suzanne Langelier-Lebeda can also thus be seen. To not provide that sampling would rob the visitor to this website of the ravishing visual component of this dreamwork! This edited version is presented with permission of the copyright holders.
